Condiments, Seasonings, Food Additives, and Fiber Supplements

Although it is probably easier to get control of interstitial cystitis/painful bladder symptoms by eating your food as plain as possible, let’s be real. We want flavor with our food! Although we don’t have much in the way of research to support which condiments and seasonings will trigger IC symptoms, we do have the experiences of thousands and thousands of patients who have spoken out on which additives bother them. Because it is very hard to take into account nearly 12 million people’s individual triggers, we recommend using an elimination diet to identify your personal triggers rather than rely on any one list. We have a good idea which categories that most condiments, additives, and seasonings fall, but play around with seasoning your food. Maybe just a dash of a Try It food will bring a little more fun to your meal again!
